When most people hear the word 'church', they think of a building or a place or somewhere to go on Sundays. At The Altar, church means much more. Church is not a building but people. People whose lives have been radically changed through their relationship with Jesus Christ.
We believe that Christ makes a difference in our families, our work, our children, our marriages, and in everything we do. Church is where we are - at home, at a game, in a carpool, in school, next door, across the street, at the office, on the jobsite, and even on the internet. Each week we hear new stories of how someone from The Altar helped a neighbor through a tough time, prayed with a coworker who needed to know that someone cared, or just took time to listen and be a friend.
We are all about God! Our utmost desire is to please Him, be like His Son, Jesus, be filled with His Spirit, and share the marvelous love and truth of God's Word with others. November 2002, the church began as a non-denominational (licensed under the International Charismatic Bible Ministries) body - diverse in every way, yet unified in love and faith.
Our Mission is as simple as ABCD and E:
Authenticity is a precious commodity in today's world. It is our desire to develop the body of Christ to be real in their relationship with God and others.
Balance is a must. We align ourselves, every principle, and every doctrine according to God's Word.
Change is inevitable. God's Word does not change but methods often do.
Diversity without division; conformity is not unity. The Holy Spirit unites us as we each grow and thrive spiritually in an environment of love, grace and the freedom to worship God.
Evangelize our world. Live it and tell it. Many people do one or the other, we are strongly committed to both.
